This summer on DelcoFootball.com

Check out the College Commitments page for info on Class of 2014 recruits. If I’m missing anyone, please let me know.

I’ll have team schedules up in July and a new and improved stat page for 2012 & 2013.

COACHES/PLAYERS/PARENTS: If you have highlight videos, I’m going to make another page and start posting a bunch there. Make sure they are YouTube-enabled. I get requests to post video all the time and I haven’t done it enough, so I figured I’d start.

You can send me highlight vids at msmith@delcotimes.com

In late-July, we’ll start with our usual preseason coverage. This year, we’re trying to get a post from camp on every team. (A feat we didn’t come close to accomplishing last season, unfortunately.)

I plan to be at every camp this season (well, most) and will have blog posts as soon as I do,

Of course, we’ll have our team of reporters at camps beginning August 12, the first *OFFICIAL* day of PIAA fall practice. Our annual preseason preview of every team will run i late-August.

Feel free to start discussing your team on this thread.

Also, Terry Toohey will re-join the beat this season. Consider it a tag team of epic proportions.

    • Looks like SV schedule is already completed for the season. I was hoping Interboro could have picked them up this year because Upper Moreland pulled out of Interboro’s schedule this year. Have a great season

      • I said at the end of last year that Sun Valley was on the verge of being very, very good. I see seven wins on their schedule this season. I know I’m beating a dead horse, but it’s a shame they’re not in the Del Val. An up-and-coming Sun Valley team would give AP and Interboro a serious run.

      • Here is my prediction Sun Valley starts season 3-0 against opponents who are combine 0-9 and they sneak in to the top 5 of the SUPER 7, then lose the next three in a row.

      • Your response aside, I think Sun Valley can make the District One AAA tourney. Maybe that doesn’t say a lot, maybe it does, but they should make a good story this year.

      • sv wont lose 3 in a row at all this season.. Their skill players are up there with the best of em i the county. Veteran QB and Rb’s. SV Gave WC Rustin and Unionville all they could handle last year and also kept jerry lanier out of the endzone last season.. Grugan has done a nice job with the program

      • It’s nice to know SV kept Lanier out of the endzone last season. AP kept every Vanguard out in a shutout rout.

      • That probably was the worst game AP played all year. Lucky SV didn’t win that game by two touchdowns.

    • Yes, indeed. Terry will be taking charge of stats for the print product and teaming up with me to enhance our daily coverage, with more columns, features, etc. throughout the week. In this day and age of sports journalism, two people are better than one on a local beat as important as h.s. football

    • After last year’s disappointment, O’Hara has to school itself first! AP will do fine. I’m anticipating a very good game

      • Regardless of what happens in that game, Vosheski scheduling Cardinal O’Hara and Pennridge benefits AP barring any injuries. You are facing two top programs in D12 and D1; that in essence should benefit them for the rest of the season if they come out healthy. They like most of the Del Val league will probably only being playing a 9 game schedule with a bye in week 5.

      • Hey Ocat8 What is up with the bye in week 5. I was hoping for Bucs would try to pick up a quality team in week 5 to replace the Upper Moreland pull-out, for strength of schedule. Even if they had to travel

      • I have no clue about any particular team, just looking through the different league schedules that everyone but Glen Mills is open Week 5 in the Del Val. Games have to be hard to come by now and if your AAA or AAAA and your only option is a AA or A team then it is most likely not worth it because playoff points go off of average points per games played. So AP and Interboro will divide their total points earned by 9 as opposed to 10.

    • God, I hope so. That program deserves it. Watch out for Galloway, a LB/DB/WR. He was their best player last year and is now a senior. I expect he’ll get a ton of college interest.
