Another O’Hara recruit off the market: Blyden commits to UMass

J.T. Byden is the latest Cardinal O’Hara standout to give his word to a college program.

Blyden, who transferred from Camden Catholic, announced Monday he plans to attend UMass.

Blyden, a 6-0, 200-pounder, is a stellar two-way player. The hafback/safety gives the Lions a game changer on both sides.

He is the third Lions to decide on college, joining ATH Thadd Smith (Boston College) and K Steve Weyler (Villanova).

    • I still think Wood is better, but it’s only July, and my opinion hardly matters at this point. Wood isn’t as strong as it was two and three years ago, but I have to think the sophormore QB is a star in the making. OL is stacked (the Oliver kid has a bunch of D1 offers) and Wood churns out a stud RB every year (the Messina kid is one to watch). Right now, Wood is still the team to beat, but I think O’Hara can be every bit as good.

    • Probably, yes. Bonner-O’Hara might be thee game to watch in Delco, though. Bonner will fly under the radar but they are going to be very good.

      • I don’t mind flying under the radar…hint hint, Bonner Dad…Lol
