FAB 5: Week 9

1. Darren Washington, RB, Ridley: Washington enjoyed a school-record-breaking night, posting 305 yards on 26 carries to lead the Green Raiders to their ninth consecutive win and a share of the Central League crown.

2. Evan Harvey, LB/TE, Archbishop Carroll:Harvey had an interception return for a touchdown and caught a 52-yard pass in the Patriots’ rout of Bishop McDevitt. Harvey also had eight tackles on the night.

Mark Shiiba’s game-winning field goal saved Strath Haven’s season.

3. Mark Shiiba, K, Strath Haven: Shiiba, a converted soccer player at Haven, nailed a 26-yard field goal in the waning moments of regulation to give the Panthers a 16-14 decision over Springfield … the mother of must-win games for SH. Thanks in part to Shiiba’s clutch kick, the Panthers will secure a playoff spot with a win this weekend.

4. T.J. Mancini & Leon Hunter, QB & WR, Sun Valley: The Vanguards duo connected three times for 122 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to W.C. Rustin. It was a season-best performance for Hunter and Mancini, who was 12 of 20 for 222 yards and three TDs

5.Collin DiGalbo & Christian Summers, QB & WR, Bonner-Prendergast: Though he completed only 17 passes, DiGalbo became the Friars’ single-game passing leader with 337 yards. Not bad for a sophomore who has been thrust into action. Summers, a mid-season addition to Bonner this season, has made a huge impact in the passing game. He was DiGalbo’s top target, catching six passes for 206 yards and four touchdowns. His yards-per-catch average was 34.3.

      • So win or lose, the ninth consecutive win guaranteed Ridley at least a share of the central league title? I was confused because the way I read it it looked like no matter what Ridley did this week they were locked into a share of the title and couldn’t win it all alone. so right now the worst they can do is share the title no matter what but the best they can do is win it alone? theyve currently guaranteed themselves at least a share?
