There’s no mistaking what Jim Haley can do on a football field.
The Bonner-Prendergast senior is not only the Friars’ starting quarterback. He’s a safety, a return specialist, a punter … he does it all.
But Haley can’t stay on the field. He has suffered through a string of injuries that’s limited the All-Delco to just two full games this season.
Saturday afternoon, Haley left with an ankle sprain and could miss the Friars’ regular-season finale against Archbishop Wood. The hope is, with rest, Haley will return for the Catholic League Class AAA playoffs in two weeks.
Haley was hurt during a point-after attempt in the second quarter, after the Lions scored the game’s only touchdown.
9-7 game. Zzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzz. Snooze. Shame for the B. quarterback. He’s a good athlete. O’Hara,,,,,,,, mediocre. Bonner……,the same
I thought it was a very physical game. Both teams are hardnosed. It seemed Algeo tried to play it safe and sit on a 9-0 lead. I believe Ohara had the ability to score atleast two more td’s.I will be anxious to see these two teams to play in two weeks.
It was sloppily played, especially in the first half. The second half was a typical Algeo-coached game. He chewed clock, and to his kids’ credit, converted some key third downs late in the game.
Very sloppy game, thank god there was not a repeat of Roman last week. Kept the ball on the ground and ate clock up. Defense was awesome forcing tons of turnovers and stops even when given a short field a few times. Typical Bonner O’Hara clash. What is your prediction on hopefully a potential playoff game.
I think it’ll depend on the health of Haley. The kid is such a difference maker in all areas of the game. I predicted an O’Hara this win weekend with the knowledge that Haley would play, so I guess it make sense to pick them again, but don’t hold me to it!.
