Coming in Wednesday’s Football Notebook …

Pick up Wednesday’s edition of the Daily Times to check out the following.

  • A write-up on two of Episcopal Academy’s most under-appreciated players.
  • How strong is Interboro tight end/linebacker Rashon Fentress?
  • One Springfield player reached a career milestone last weekend.
  • Tidbits on Delco Christian, Haverford High, Harriton, plus our look Around the State.
  • Of course, our Super 7 for Week 4. There is one rather significant change to this week’s rankings. I’ll also post that here Wednesday.

  1. Hey Matt,
How come we never see any write ups on lineman in the high school level ? The Central league has constantly put o and d lineman into local colleges and universities. The reason I ask is I have a son who is a senior at Marple Newtown High school who plays right tackle on the offense. Coaching football for the last 26 years all throughout the CYO programs and a 6 year stay at Monsignor Bonner, I can honestly say he is one of the best O tackles in the central league. () I know, rite away your probably thinking another paerent pushing his kid, but honestly check him out. His name is Ed Graham. )

    • Ed,

I disagree. We write quite a bit about linemen. In fact, my game article from Haverford-Radnor game last week was all about Haverford’s guys up front. You may just have to do some extra looking around.

The Central League does have some quality linemen, from Sinex and Plousis at Ridley, to Donoghue at Garnet Valley, and Marra at Springfield. Granted, they don’t get the same recognition as the quarterback or running back, but I pride myself on making sure linemen are written and talked about in the Delco Times.
