Linking up: Bukasa, McCabe among Delco players profiled

While stumbling around on the Internet looking up Delcoites in college (by the way, any helpful hints in that pursuit, feel free to drop me a line mdegeorge@delcotimes.com), I ran into a couple of links that might be of local interest.

First, NCAA.com profiled Academy Park All-Delco and Lycoming College linebacker Kabongo Bukasa. Not only is he an immensely talented player that some think could have All-American potential, but his story is an inspiring tale of escaping war-torn Congo and achieving greatness on the gridiron via Sharon Hill.

There’s also news out of Georgetown that Malvern Prep grad and Newtown Square native Robert McCabe was named the Patriot League’s preseason defensive player of the year. Though largely ceremonial, it shows the high hopes held by the Hoyas for the senior captain and linebacker.
